With three rounds of the 2016/2017 Think Money Super Sedan Championship Series completed, Mark Pagel and Steve Jordan have been the standout performers and this Saturday night (November 5) the duo will buckle up again to take on 20 other drivers at Toowoomba Speedway for round four. Not only are they the only drivers to have recorded a feature win this far, they are the only drivers to have finished inside the top five in all three series rounds. Having won two events and finished second in the other, Pagel leads the series heading into the event Toowoomba, which is proudly sponsored by Ian Boettcher Race Parts as part of Ultimate Pink Night, an initiative to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

As Queensland’s premier speedway sedan series, the Think Money Championship is the only V8 speedway sedan competition that can consistently present quality fields comprising many of the very best drivers in the country.  This weekend alone will see three national Super Sedan Championship winners in action, with the field having also accumulated more than 20 state title victories and eight National Super Sedan Series wins.  brims-ian-1

Fresh from a win in Sydney last weekend, Darren Kane will be primed to make amends for his last Think Money series outing when a rare mistake cost him what seemed a certain win in Brisbane. Kane’s record speaks for itself but he knows that the challenge this weekend is much tougher than his Sydney sojourn and he will need to bring his very best form if he is to prevail.

Having finished second behind Kane in Sydney, Matt Pascoe will also be gunning for a successful homecoming as he chases his first win for the season. Pascoe is yet to finish off the podium so far this season and can always be relied upon to make every effort in pursuit of victory, his outside charge in round two proving the highlight of the night. The last two rounds of Think Money series action have seen veteran Wayne Randall in vintage form, charging from the rear of the field to finish sixth in round two and then scoring a runner-up finish behind Pagel in round three at Rockhampton and the veteran racer is out to add another feature race win to a resumé of outstanding results accumulated over more than 40 years in the sport.

With a third-place finish in Rockhampton, Ian Brims is another who will be amongst those fighting for podium position on Saturday night, as will defending Think Money series champion Shaun Black. Racing in front of his hometown crowd, Black can expect plenty of support from local fans in his first Toowoomba outing since becoming the youngest driver to clinch the SSA championship. The return of Jason Campbell to competition is a welcome bonus given his outstanding results last season and there is a mix of youth and experience through the field that sets the scene for another terrific night of competition.
