Newly crowned National Champion, Darren Kane, has continued his strong form by claiming his sixth NSW Super Sedan Title in eight years, and the fourteenth State Title of his career.

Kane started the thirty five lap main event along side Mick Nicola, who won the event in 2002 and 2003.  Behind the pair, would be former NSW Champion Lachlan Onley and recently crowned West Australian and Queensland Champion Matt Pascoe.

Kane immediately assumed the control of the race, with Nicola holding second through the first three laps before being deposed by Matt Pascoe.

Behind the lead trio, a serious challenge was being mounted by former National Champion, Callum Harper, who after starting from the sixth row, was moving swiftly through the field.   Carper moved to eighth place after five laps, to seventh place after six laps, and by lap nine, had moved to fourth place.

The Tasmanian’s quest for the lead showed no abatement, moving to second a lap later, as Harper set his sights on Darren Kane. On lap thirteen, Harper had taken the lead in a devastating move through the field.

Harper started to open a lead, but on lap nineteen, Harper would be involved in an incident with a slower car which spun, leaving Harper no-where to go, with the damage to great to continue.

Kane returned to the lead for the fifteen lap re-start and with no traffic to contend with, opened a handy lead.  Nicola continued to chase, while Matt Pascoe and Mick Nicola Jnr swapped third position four times in the concluding stages.  Pascoe passed both Mick Nicola Jnr and Mick Nicola Snr in the final two laps to move to second, but Kane had a significant advantage, and went on to record his sixth NSW Title victory.

South Australian Champion, Dave Gartner was fifth for the majority of the race, while veteran, Wayne Randall would finish sixth after starting from position fourteen.
