NSSS Series Schedule Confirmed

Series Schedule Confirmed …02/06/07…NASR/ASCF Media Release

The schedule of events for the 2007/2008 National Super Sedan Series has been confirmed by the National Association of Speedway Racing.  A working party comprising drivers, team owners and NASR staff has finalised a race schedule that will comprise seven events across three states within 24 days.

Once again, the series will get underway at Rockhampton Speedway in central Queensland and traverse south to conclude at Murray Bridge Speedway in South Australia.  The compacted schedule has been constructed to enable more drivers and spectators to follow the series whilst causing minimal interruption to the various regional Super Sedan competitions and blue ribbon events across the country.

With the 2007/2008 schedule featuring just one double-header weekend, the burden for competitors and teams has been further reduced.  Furthermore, the early confirmation of series dates allows competitors to commence planning and negotiations with sponsors in preparation for their assault on the national series.

The 2007/2008 National Super Sedan Series schedule is as follows:

Thursday, December 27 – Round 1 – Rockhampton Speedway (Queensland)

Saturday, December 29 – Round 2 – Brisbane International Speedway (Queensland)

Monday, December 31 – Round 3 – Charlton Raceway, Toowoomba (Queensland)

Friday, January 4 – Round 4 – Timmis Speedway, Mildura (Victoria)

Saturday, January 5 – Round 5 – Avalon Raceway, Geelong (Victoria)

Saturday, January 12  – Round 6 – Borderline Speedway, Mt Gambier (South Australia)

Saturday, January 19  – Round 7 – Murray Bridge Speedway (South Australia)

There is a possibility that one more round will be added to the calendar, however any additional events will be scheduled within the existing series timeframes.  Any additional dates will be advised as soon as they have been confirmed. Whilst financial considerations and a lack of available dates have prevented the series visiting Western Australia in 2007/2008, plans are afoot to make the trek across the Nullarbor in 2008/2009
