The ASCF/SSA May National Conference commenced Saturday 26th May in Adelaide, with all Directors joining State Delegates and ASCF/SSA CEO Neil Sayer, in the first of two days of discussions.

From Day 1’s discussions, three of the five National Titles have been confirmed, while many recommendations have been passed by the Seven Directors.

National Title Allocations for 2007/08

Junior Sedans – Albany, Western Australia – 25 – 27 January 2008

Street Stock – Murray Bridge, South Australia – 7 – 9 February 2008

Modified Production – Maryborough, Queensland – 20 – 23 March 2008

Super Sedans – to be advised

Production Sedans – to be advised

Recommendations that were passed:

1.  That one way communicators and transponders are to be compulsory for all Blue Ribbon and National Title events.

2.  That all rule changes/amendments be circulated directly to the competitors.

3.  That the ASCF/SSA sanction all officials of the meeting for Blue Ribbon and National Title events.

4.  That the Chief Steward and the one way communicator operator be at the same location.

5.  That the transponder loop will determine the finish line and all laps will be scored at the finish line.  (some venues the loop is not quite where you would consider the finish line to be)

6.  That the training of all officials be reviewed to ensure that any rule changes/amendments are enforced.

7.  That a National register of officials be created (Chief Stewards and Technical) and this register elect the relevant National Steward and Technical Advisor.  The State Chief Steward and State Chief Technical Advisors will also come from this register and be endorsed by the ASCF/SSA Board.

8.  Where drivers purchase their own transponders, the transponder number can be recorded on the nomination forms/log books when nominating for an event.

9.  Where drivers purchase their own transponder, the transponder number be recorded on the inside cover of the log book.

10.  Late Nomination fees for National Titles have increased to:  Senior $500, Junior $250.

11.  All Class Specification Manuals to be placed on the National Website, www.speedwaysedans.com with this to be done as soon as possible.  (drivers will still be required to have their own personal copy at all times)
