Triple Treat for Super Sedans
Triple Treat for Super Sedans…28/11/06…NASR/ASCF Media Release
An exciting development for Super Sedan competitors and spectators alike is confirmation of a partnership between the National Super Sedan Series and Speedway Racing News Magazine that will see the staging of the inaugural Speedway Racing News Super Sedan Triple Crown in March 2007. The three-race series will comprise the final three rounds of the 2006/2007 National Super Sedan Series and will be staged on consecutive nights in South Australia and Victoria.
The opening round of the Speedway Racing News Triple Crown will be at Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway on March 9, with round two to be decided at Mildura’s Timmis Speedway on Saturday, March 10. The final round of the Triple Crown, which doubles as the National Super Sedan Series Grand Final, will be staged at Murray Bridge Speedway on Sunday, March 11.
Speedway Racing News publisher David Tapp has been a strong supporter of the NSSS since the concept was first developed. ”The organisers of the National Super Sedan Series are to be congratulated on the success of the inaugural tournament and I have no doubt the series will be even better this season. Power Productions, through Speedway Racing News, and its television production business, looks forward to assisting the Series in a number of key areas and I trust our involvement will enhance the event’s profile”, he said upon confirmation of the Triple Crown. Furthermore, Tapp is extremely excited about SRN’s involvement with the NSSS. ”As the top selling oval track publication in Australia, Speedway Racing News is delighted to be associated with the nation’s leading Super Sedan Series”, he added.
With the NSSS having already had a positive effect on the profile and popularity of Super Sedan racing around Australia, Tapp is confident that the Speedway Racing News Triple Crown will serve as an additional impetus for the growth of the category, stating that “the Triple Crown concept, featuring three nights of V8 tin top racing at three terrific venues is a marvellous innovation and hopefully fans of Super Sedan racing nationally will support the three night extravaganza in big numbers”.
In addition to prizemoney and contingencies on offer at each round of the National Super Sedan Series, the Speedway Racing News Triple Crown will carry additional prizes for competitors. Coming at the end of the national series schedule, the Triple Crown should serve as an incentive for those competitors who may be out of contention for the overall NSSS championship. Participation in the Speedway Racing News Triple Crown will be open to any Super Sedan competitor who wishes to take part, in accordance with National Super Sedan Series rules and regulations.
Building on the success of the inaugural National Super Sedan Series, the development of the Speedway Racing News Triple Crown is another significant opportunity for Super Sedan racing to secure stronger support from fans, sponsors and the media.
