NASR/ASCF Media Release…05/09/07

With the start of the 2007/2008 Australian speedway season just weeks away, the contracted driver line-up for the third instalment of the National Super Sedan Series has been finalised with two-time defending series champion Wayne Randall confirmed as the first contracted driver in the 2007/2008 National Super Sedan Series.  In the short history of the NSSS, Randall is the only driver with his name on the championship trophy and the veteran Queenslander has made some significant equipment upgrades in his bid for a third title in the face of the increasingly tough competition that exists within the national Super Sedan ranks. In two years of NSSS competition, Randall has won four events and, perhaps more importantly, he has finished inside the top ten at every round.

Randall has been at the forefront of Australian speedway sedan competition for 25 years with a multitude of feature race wins and championship victories throughout his lengthy career.  In addition to his National Series success, Randall enjoyed a stellar run of success throughout the 2006/2007 season, including a third-place finish in the Australian Super Sedan Championship at Perth’s Kwinana Motorplex.

Randall has won the Queensland Super Sedan Championship on three occasions, is a two-time winner in the Australian Super Sedan Grand Prix and a winner of the prestigious East Coast Grand National.  He has also accrued podium results in the New South Wales and Tasmanian titles and has twice finished on the podium in national championship events. Renowned for his ability to combine speed with consistency, Randall has twice taken out the season-long Super Sedan Association pointscore and he has captained Australia in a series of Test Match events against the strongest American squad ever assembled in Australia.

Determined to maintain his dominance of the national series, Randall has once again updated his equipment for 2007/2008 and will have another brand new Danny Smith-built Rocket Pontiac Grand Prix at his disposal for the coming season.  As the proprietor of AFCO Shock Doctor, Randall possesses considerable expertise in racecar set-up and is also an experienced mechanic and performance engine builder who is always willing to offer advice and assistance to fellow racers – even those looking to steal his crown!

With such a positive and professional attitude, coupled with his outstanding record of success across Australia, Speedway Sedans Australia (ASCF) and the National Association of Speedway Racing (NASR) are very pleased to confirm defending champion Wayne Randall as the first contracted driver in the 2007/2008 National Super Sedan Series.

Further driver announcements will follow in the weeks ahead.  For the latest news and series information, visit the official series website at www.nationalsupersedanseries.com
