On Saturday 27th June the QSCA Committee of Management met to discuss issues relating to speedway in Qld and Australia as a whole.  Important decisions were made on the future direction of the sport in Qld – the following is a small report on some of those changes being implemented.

Changes to Numbering Allocation of Cars In Qld – a proposal was presented to the meeting on how to implement a Numbering Allocation without causing any major shake up for those already well entrenched in their choice of race car number.  In summary – no further registrations will be accepted for numbers that already have a car registered in that division.  Although this will not have any immediate result in reducing the number duplication it will prevent it from re-occurring in the future.  Please see seperate item to read fully how this will be introduced.

Registered Ownership – it was decided after lots of legal discussions over the past few months to disallow Junior Drivers from being the registered owner of their race cars.  This is also in line with Qld Dept of Transport rulings.  To be the registered owner of a race car you must be eligible to hold a senior racing licence (16 years and over)

Title Nominations – from the 2009/10 season all nominations received after the official closing date will be deemed to be late nominations and the late nomination fee will be charged – no exceptions.

Live Audio for State Titles will continue to be part of all Title events – where the technology can be sourced.

Breathalyser – a unit will be purchased and the 4 Executive members will be trained and accredited in the use of this equipment.  A procedure for the use of this will be included in the QSCA Policy and Procedure Manual.  The breathalyser unit will be in use at any race track on any race night and will include officials, drivers and others.

Paperwork – any paperwork received by the State Licencing Officer that is not correctly completed will be returned to the applicant for correction or completion.  This will increase the turn around time of the issue of licences and registrations – PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR PAPERWORK CORRECTLY AND COMPLETELY PRIOR TO FORWARDING IT.
