Over the weekend the QSCA Committee of Management met for their regular meeting.  Up for discussion was the need for Clubs to be able to offer their Volunteers the chance to be a registered official no matter what role they play on a race night.

Currently Stewards, Scrutineers, Lap Scorers and Pit Marshalls are required to become registered Officials but as we all are aware of there are a great number of other people who are required to help make the race night a success e.g. crash crew, fire crew, gate attendants, infield assistants, announcer, points tally, payout officer etc.

It has been decided to introduce a new classification of Official registration - Race Nigt Official - this registration is for all those volunteers who do not fall into the category of steward, scrutineer, lap scorer or pit marshall.  It is available for anyone who fulfills any role connected to the actual running of the racing.

Registration is via the normal method - person must be the holder of current Working with Children Blue Card and have Personal Accident Insurance which covers them for their speedway activity.  Complete the Officials Registration form (these will be updated in due course to reflect this change), attach a copy of the current Blue Card Positive Notice letter (that does not expire within 60 days) and provide evidence of being the holder of current Personal Accident insurance or application for same, Clubs to complete the recommendation to be signed by both President and Secretary and forward to the QSCA Licencing Office at P.O. Box 298, Gympie  4570.
