Round 1 of the 2007/2008 G & W Racing Modified Production Series was run on Saturday night the 6th of October at Charlton Raceway Toowoomba.  The first round attracted 35 cars which include Australia No 1 Todd Doyle & Queensland No 1 Aiden Raymont.

The night started off with plenty of action with Troy Ware taking the lead of the first heat but then spun in turn four in the greasy conditions.  Bullpit went from position 10 but also ended up in the concrete wall.  Steve Price took the win in the Blackburn owned car.  Steve Collins finished second with Marokse third.

Matt Swarbrooke took out the next heat of the night with a great drive holding out Aust 1 of Todd Doyle with Colin Hockley in the ex Wayne Miles BA Falcon.  Heat three saw Steve Downes take the chequered flag after Trapp had to pull infield with electrical problems.  Shane MacDonald crossed the line in second followed by David Jacobi.

Heat 4 was taken out by Todd Doyle followed by Greg Raymont & Colin Hockley.  Other heat wins throughout the night were taken out by Steve Price, Matt Hefford, Qld 1 Aiden Raymont & Rodney Pammenter.

The B Main feature event was taken out by Troy Ware followed by Jason Campbell, Troy Richards & Shane Dennis.

The A Main was shaping up to be an action packed event with Todd Doyle & Steve Price off the front row.  All cars & drivers were being challenged by the rough track conditions with many retiring with problems.  Pammenter was the one to watch with some amazing moves on Aiden Raymont & Steve Price before Price retiring with damage to his car from the rough track.

Doyle led from start to finish and was never challenged with Pammenter finishing second and Aiden Raymont taking out third position.  A last corner incident saw Greg Raymont & Matthew Swarbrooke come together with Shane MacDonald taking advantage of the situation taking 5th place from Swarbrooke & Raymont taking out 4th.  Travis Barron came from 13th to finish in 7th followed by Steven Zahl, Troy Richards, David Jacobi, Neil Coomber & Garry Maroske.
