Entry to Lismore Showgrounds

This is the info for the entry at Lismore on Saturday. The info was on the information sheet sent out by the Lismore club but this is a more detailed version so you can all get into the pits quicker & easier.
This gate is on the western side of the Show Grounds (the main gate is on the southern side) and Dunoon Road is the road where the Saleyards are.
Drivers may be held up if they approach the Showground along Alexander Road (the road where the Richmond River High School is) to the Main Gate as Patrons may be lined up waiting to get in. The Main Gate opens at 4 pm (dst).
When arriving in Lismore along the road from Bangalow and you turn right at the Catholic Cathedral (a roundabout is here now and the school and servo on the approach) and travel to the end where the Dog Track is and turn right over the bridge – if you take the first turn left and vere around to the left where the playing field is – you come to a round about at the Northern Rivers Hotel (on the right) this is Terania Street. Turn right into Terania Street - travel along this road, under the rail viaduct and turn right into Dunoon Road - there is a small BP Service Station on the corner and a small Timber Yard to the left on the opposite side of the road. Travel along this road past the Saleyards on the left until you come to the Showground, do not turn right at the corner but keep driving along Dunoon Road. There are two gate entrances and it is the second entrance that will be open from 3 pm for competitors.
David Lander now arranges for this gate to be open from 3 pm (daylight saving time) for the entry of Competitors and Officials. Through this gate there is only one charge which includes entry plus pit pass. Drivers with, underage children or family members who do not want to go into the pits, in their vehicle, can go through this gate and separate to go their separate ways.
This stops the hold up in getting through the front gate. Last meeting there was a huge line up at the front gate and racing was held back about 15 minutes to allow for the patrons to get inside the grounds.
